Thermal & Moisture Protection
What we offer
Thermal insulation, also known as continuous insulation (CI) has become an increasingly more popular design component in modern day commercial architecture. This type of insulation involves the application of insulating materials to the exterior of a structure, creating a continuous thermal barrier that helps regulate temperatures, reduce energy consumption and increase R value. Thermal insulation, while being an added cost to a buildings material assembly allows for the utilization behind almost every exterior cladding system such as brick, stucco and siding.
(E.I.F.S) or Exterior Insulation and Finish System, also known as "artificial stucco" is a fully integrated system utilizing the thermal insulation mentioned above. This popular type of exterior cladding is used in both residential and commercial construction. It consists of a layer of insulation board mechanically attached or adhesively applied to the exterior wall, followed by a reinforced base coat and a textured finish coat. EIFS provides both insulation and aesthetic appeal to buildings, with a wide variety of colors and textures available for the finish coat.
We recommend pairing a liquid applied weather barrier within your exterior cladding assembly when possible. Acting as an alternative to traditional paper like weather barriers. This external thermal protection helps to safeguard the building structure from potential issues relating to air, moisture and weather exposure. By serving as a protective layer, it reduces the risk of condensation, mold growth, and deterioration of building materials, ultimately extending the lifespan of the structure and reducing maintenance needs. The nature of liquid applied weather barriers allows for more durable protection of your substrate in the event of water intrusion behind your exterior cladding material.
